New T-Shirt Design
I'm honoured to be working with local charity Linc again on a new t-shirt design for their forthcoming Make a Difference campaign. Linc are dedicated to supporting patients and their families affected by leukaemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers.
They wanted the design to be bright and colourful (just like a rainbow) for the front and back of their t-shirts. I've used geometric, coloured shapes to modernise the theme, creating an abstract rainbow that will suit both genders.
Please take a look and let me know if you like them. You can also find out more about the charity here: www.lincfund.org

Form in Flux
A new body of work addressing how we identify with everyday letter forms.
'Form in Flux' masks areas of the alphabet making the letters frozen in a state of disguise. Each letter possesses characteristics from another making it impossible to identify exactly what the letters are. They remain uncertain.

EXCLUSIVE: New Digital Mazey Design Typeface 'JeriBlue'
Here in the Digital Mazey Design office I've been kept busy honing my typography skills ready for the launch of my new Font Collection later this year.
This month I've been concentrating on a typeface inspired by my time in Jericoacoara, Brazil this year, called JeriBlue.
This month I've been concentrating on a typeface inspired by my time in Jericoacoara, Brazil this year, called JeriBlue.
The name comes from a mixture of the shortened word for the location, and the hazy colour that masks the area. The font is strong, bold, and interesting like the people who live there.

Digital Mazey - Doing Her Bit For Charity
This month I've been working on a design for a charity called Sporting Swindon.
As the charity branding is in its early stages, I was flattered to be asked to design their logo. Still, having all of the below sporting aspects included was quite a challenge - but I do love a challenge...
Items included in briefing: a dartboard, a dart, a pool cue, a pool ball, a bowling ball and a bowling pin.

3 Javascript Masters: The Creator, The Humble Writer and The Show Off
Wham! Another weekend over, but wait, it's not all bad news! This week has been one of the most productive in the DMD Studio.
I have been concentrating on the 3 main components of Javascript in order to make designs more dynamic and playful...
- Variables
- Conditionals
- Loops
Although it's not the easiest language to get your head around, it is fun, so here are 3 simpler snippets of coding you can start with in order to set a firm foundation toward mastering its wondrous delights.
The Creator - Script Tags:
Javascript, much like HTML, needs tags to tell a browser what it is. The tags used to do this are script tags which look like this:
<script type="text/javascript">
***content goes here***
</script>
The Humble Writer - Document Write:
In order to write to the page you must use the prefix document.write. This will sit inside the scripting tags, like this (don't forget the cheeky semi-colon at the end of the statement):
<script type="text/javascript">
document.write("hello world");
</script>
The Show Off - Alert:
Alerts prompt the browser to display a small box with a message and an action. You may have already seen these when you are exiting out of an online document without saving. You can create one very simply, using this code as a guide:
<script type="text/javascript">
alert("hello world");
</script>
That's all for now folks. I'm be in touch with more complex levels of scripting soon.
Good luck and happy scripting!

Design Simplicity
Sometime simplicity can be key to a design's success. Sometimes it can just be plain nice. No bells, no whistles.
I created this steel cup of water using only components created from flat shapes and colour in Photoshop. Simple designs are also versatile. This cup wouldn't look out of place as a logo, icon or advert.
Don't forget you can see more of my work, and keep up to date with my design news, by signing up to receive my newsletter here!
